Creating a long term relationship with a team that helps create and manage your retirement income is very important. Through our initial intake and planning process, our priority is to completely understand your family and finances with the goal of becoming your life-long partner.
Service, communication and respect. These are the important values that we live by.
We have a staff to advisor ratio of 4 to 1 to make sure that we do right by you. From administrative paperwork to speaking with a real person, not voicemail; to fresh baked cookies in our lobby, we pride ourselves on always being there for you. We treat clients like family and are proud to say that we work with multiple generations of our client families.
Unfortunately, we’ve heard stories about when clients felt underserviced or forgotten by other retirement planning companies.
Your Compass Point Team is focused on you, the client, through and through, and this starts with our team members. We do everything we can to help our team be successful so that they can help you be successful. Happy and well-performing team members mean good service to clients. We live by our values and we are engineered to serve you differently from other retirement planning companies. We believe that this is our winning formula for success, resulting in low client attrition and high client referral volume.
We know that the questions keeping most upcoming retirees awake at night are:
- Can I afford to retire?
- How do I best invest the money I’ve saved?
- What’s the most I can take safely from my investments without running out?
Over the years, we have developed several ways to help clients create a vision for their future and make educated decisions involving pre-retirement preparations and post-employment paychecks. Compass Point provides specific answers to these questions with our carefully engineered, proprietary planning process, called the TRU™ Method, that offers the most sophisticated and up-to-date approach.
Our summary and action plans outline specific recommendations aimed at improving retirement income dependability and overall asset management.
Being involved in the communities where we work and live is a key value at Compass Point. From our annual Toys for Tots drive, to volunteering to help neighbors in need, to coaching youth sports teams, over the years we have donated more than $100,000 to benefit the charities that are important to our communities and our clients. Check out our events calendar for upcoming community activities.

Building Our Partnership
INITIAL MEETING — We schedule a “get to know each other” meeting to learn about your current situation and circumstances. We will discuss your wishes, your goals and anticipated retirement timeline. If you feel comfortable working together, we then schedule an Action Appointment.
ACTION APPOINTMENT — In this meeting, your advisor makes recommendations on the next steps you should take to get ready to retire. We also schedule follow up appointments to “tweak” retirement recommendations and plans.
Types of Investments — We tailor your investment portfolio to reach your retirement goals. We work with many different types of investments including Stocks, Mutual Funds, Fixed Rate Investments (call for current rates), Mini Bonds – Competitive Tax Equivalent Yields (call for current rates), Corporate Bonds and Bond Ladders (call for a hypothetical illustration), Principal Protected Investments (CDs, Zero Coupon Bonds and more), Annuities, REITS and 529 Plans (College Savings Plans).
FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS — Many things can, and will, happen that affect your retirement plans. The economy may change, a relative may need your help, and children may spend longer in school than expected. In each follow up appointment, we address any changes and how it affects your plan.
RETIREMENT — Congratulations! We are excited to transition you from employee to retiree. You have answered the #1 retirement question, “How do I invest the money I’ve saved?” Now we will guide you through the second retirement question, “What is the maximum monthly paycheck I can safely take, without running out?”
LIFETIME RELATIONSHIP — We strive to create a client relationship that lasts a lifetime; that’s why we consider our clients family. Seeing our client families through this journey is very rewarding for us.
